Comfortable camp chairs, baggage service across the state,
Morning coffee, a variety of daily snacks and cold soft drinks in the shade of our canopies.
Plenty of fresh water and free Gatorade for your camel packs and bottles in the morning.

Finally our own concierge service to help you with daily questions, concerns, or directions.
Padre's Post Canopies provide shade for sharing your daily RAGBRAI stories, pictures and experiences. Or just a
quiet place to take a nap before dinner and the night life.
A good nights rest in a high quality tent with a thick comfortable air mattress. In addition to all of the other Charter
Services, all tent rentals include a fresh, clean, bath towel daily.

Padre's Regular Tent - Our regular tent is a 3 person, 2 door, dome type tent which works very well for 1 person,
including a twin size air mattress, and your bags. We want you to be comfortable! That's the purpose of utilizing a 3
person tent for one person, to allow plenty of room for everything. It is not tall enough for most adults to stand up in.

The Padre Dome Tent - Is a much larger 6 person, 2 door, dome type tent which allows room to stand up and move
around in. This tent may be rented for either one or two persons. It includes 2 twin size air mattresses, with plenty of
room for your luggage. Even with all of this it still allows plenty of room to stand and move around. In warmer climates
this larger tent does allow more room for air movement which you may find to be somewhat cooler.

In each of these tents we supply you with a high quality, comfortable, air mattress, AND we put up them up and take
them down every day, even in the rain. Less work for you so you can enjoy the ride and relax more.

OPTION #2 TEAM CHARTER WITHOUT TENT RENTALS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING

Transport of your gear to each of the daily locations

What’s NOT Included!
Hassles, headaches or fussin – if anything comes up, let us know and we will work with you to resolve it. You will
find  us very easy to get along with.

St Louis, Columbia, Kansas City, MO. Shuttle - The shuttles are not included in the price of the charter allowing
you to choose whether or not to drive with a friend or go with us. Besides, there are also many people living nearer to
Iowa who would not benefit from using the shuttle. By offering it as a separate service everyone has the option to use
it or not.

This year the shuttle will be picking up and dropping off at three (3) locations in Missouri. St Louis on the east.
Columbia in the center, and Kansas City in the west.

The shuttle will begin in St Louis, proceed west to Columbia, then on to Kansas City. After we are all loaded we will
head off to Iowa for the beginning of Ragbrai. We will return to St Louis and continue in the same sequence to
Columbia and ending in Kansas City.

If you are not accepted on the ride at first don't worry!
There are plenty of registrations that will come open through cancellations and we will provide you with information on
how to get one of those at regular price.

FAQ’s
1. So, what if I am new to RAGBRAI, what should I expect?
If you have never been to Ragbrai, here are some things you need to know:
RAGBRAI is the largest week long bicycle event in the world.  It is also one of the biggest revenue producing events
yearly for the State of Iowa.  RAGBRAI is a very unique event indeed.
You will need to be flexible, understanding, and patient all the while keeping a good attitude.  No whining is ever
allowed on RAGBRAI. Part of your RAGBRAI experience will be standing in lines, using Porta-Potties or KYBO’s as
the Iowans call them.
Don’t come if you plan to diet.  You will miss out on lots of great food freshly prepared by the citizens of Iowa.  
There is no opportunity to be shy while riding with thousands and thousands of other riders, camping among
thousands of others, listening to great music daily, seeing things on a bike you never imagined you would ever see
and enjoying the hospitality of Iowa.
No RAGBRAI experience is complete without using Iowa corn fields as restrooms.  
It is said Iowa corn taste different for two reasons:  Number One and Number Two!
So, come prepared to have a great time while maintaining a great attitude and remain flexible.  Remember, No
Whining!

2. So, will Padre's Charter be camping close to where the action is?   
All charters are pre-assigned camping locations by each over-nights camping committee.  It should go without saying,
that we will do everything possible to assure the very best camping locations available, however, we will be at the
mercy of the camping committee.  With that said, I can tell you that we have had some very good locations in the past.
I can't promise you will be camping close to the “action” whatever that means to you, since the action is everywhere.  
So, No Whining Allowed.  What I can promise is to make your RAGBRAI camping experience as enjoyable and
comfortable as possible no matter where we are camping.

3. So, what time do I have to be moving in the morning?
The baggage truck will leave at 7:30 AM sharp.  This should give you plenty of time since you won't have to carry
your luggage 5 blocks to the truck. Ours will be close by!

You will need to be out of your tent no later than 7 AM (6:30 is better) to allow the staff to start the take-down
process.  It is very important for our staff to get on the road to the next location as soon as possible in order to have
things ready for your arrival.

4. What about baggage, how much can I bring?   
Well, since for most of you, our charter will be providing you with a tent, air mattress, towel, and chair, what is left for
you to bring?  Clothing and bedding.  Everyone who has been PAMPERED in the past has found two smaller bags
provide plenty of space for everything needed.  I am sure you can do this as well.  Please keep each bag under 40
pounds.  My gosh, that is 80 pounds of clothing!

5. So, will Padre's Charter guarantee me a RAGBRAI rider number?
YES and NO. Ragbrai does not allow any charter to guarantee registration with RAGBRAI. However, there are always
rider numbers available through cancellations. In fact there are more than they can fill. We have NEVER had a rider
that has not been able to get a Rider Number.
JUST REGISTER EARLY, FOLLOW THE RAGBRAI RULES, AND YOU WILL GET ON THE RIDE!
You will have to register for RAGBRAI on your own.  If you register for RAGBRAI on the first day that registration is
allowed, you should have no problem getting a rider number.  Please check on the RAGBRAI web site for details
about registering and receiving your rider number.  But as I said, do not worry too much about the number issue,
there are always people needing to sell their numbers for various reasons.
Remember you must have a number.  
NO UNREGISTERED RIDERS WILL BE ALLOWED ON OUR CHARTER!  You
MUST be a registered RAGBRAI rider with a rider number to be part of the Padre's charter.

6. So, what if I need to cancel for some reason?
I understand things happen which are out of any ones control.  So, here is the "Charter" cancellation policy, the
"SHUTTLE" Cancellation policy is different and is listed below.

CHARTER CANCELLATION POLICY - If you cancel before May 21, 2012, you will receive a full refund minus a $50
cancellation fee. If you cancel between May 22 and June 21, 2012, you will receive a full refund minus a $100
cancellation fee.  

SHUTTLE CANCELLATION POLICY - Due to prepaid contracts the shuttles have a different cancellation policy.
Shuttle registrations cancelled by May 21 will be charged a $100 cancellation fee. Shuttle cancellations received
between May 22 and June 21, 2012 will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.

Sorry, due to contractual obligations, no refund will be offered for ANY REASON for either the charter or shuttle
registration cancelled less than 30 days prior to the start of the event.  Please, do not make Padre be the bad guy by
asking for a refund less than 30 days from the start of the event.  Really, it just cannot be done for ANY reasons.

7.  If I need to cancel 30 days prior to the ride start, can I sell my RAGBRAI registration and Padre's
Charter in an effort to recoup my money?
Neither your RAGBRAI, or Padre's Registration are transferable. Ragbrai has a procedure available which makes it
possible to find a buyer of your rider number on their website. It is the only legal way to sell or buy a registration.  Of
course, no promises can be made. Padre's Registration is not transferable under any circumstances. Instead our
cancellation/refund policy for this event will apply.

8. So, how many riders will Padre's Charter be taking?
Like all charters we will have limited number of slots.  Once these slots are booked a “stand by-list” will be maintained.
Please do not wait until the last minute to sign up as we do have limited space.

9. How do you handle showers?
We are always camped in one of the main campgrounds so showers are within easy walking distance.

10.  What is the cost for Padre's Charter
Well, that depends on which options you chose; Single in a regular tent, Single in a Padre Dome, or Double in a
Padre Dome. Or perhaps just the charter service using your own tent that you will put up.  Pricing for all options are
available below, or on the registration form.

11. EARLY REGISTRATION DISCOUNT. Save up to $100 off of the total of tent and roundtrip Shuttle
Service.
Register and pay for Padre's services in full by Feb. 21, 2012 and receive the EARLY
REGISTRATION DISCOUNT saving you $50 OFF of the regular price of our tent and/or Roundtrip Shuttle!
In order to receive this discount you will need to send in the total amount at the time of registration?

IMPORTANT! If you wish to pay a deposit by credit/debit card, you must phone Padre with your info in order to do so
as it is not available online. Or, if you prefer not to us credit/debit cards you may use our mail in registration form.

If space is still available, you may register after Feb 21 but will not receive the Early Registration Discount.
You may still choose to send in a 50% deposit instead of payment in full but will not receive the $50 Early Registration
Discount.

Your Host

Padre is a casual cyclist and founder of Padre's Cycle Inn. He has been doing his form of providing a first class
service to riders all over the country as well.
Padre and his crew have worked Ragbrai and know what its all about.
Padre understands what a rider wants when they bike in after a day of riding. Padre also hosts many other bicycle
events.

As a policeman on the St Louis Co Police Dept, Padre served on one of the nations first SWAT Teams when the
concept was first getting started in the 1970's. Wow, that makes Padre pretty darned old! After leaving the Police
Department, Padre became an Ordained Minister and later served as a Chaplin on the same Police Department,
before retiring, thus the nickname Padre.
